Keota man dies in wreck
Keota man dies in wreck and a Spiro woman is in critical condition after a wreck near Spiro Tuesday evening.
Bobbie Fisk, 76, of Keota, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet and had just turned westbound in the eastbound lane of Highway 271 where he collided with a Kia K5 driven by Megan Watts, 36, of Spiro.
The condition of Fisk is still under investigation while Watts was apparently normal according to the report by Trooper Wes Odom.
Fisk was pronounced deceased at the scene. Watts was air lifted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she was admitted in critical condition with lower leg, arms and trunk internal injuries.
He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. She was wearing a seatbelt. Both vehicles were equipped with airbags and they both deployed.
Odom was assisted by Trooper Fernando Cardenas, the Spiro Fire and Police Departments, the Panama Police Department and LeFlore County Sheriff’s office.
Brackets for 2023 basketball LCT
Brackets for 2023 basketball LCT were released Thursday for the tournament, which starts Monday with games at Talihina, Panama and Poteau.
The semifinals and finals will be played at Spiro High School.
Pocola is the top seed for both the boys and girls. The top three seeds get byes for the first round.

Heavener seventh and eighth grade academic team is Oklahoma Association for Academic Competition Regional Champions. Team members are captain Brooklynn Woods and members are Jonah Scroggins, Kyler Bowen, Jorge Martinez and Jacob Stinson.

Obituary for Annabelle Price
Funeral service for Annabelle Price, 96, of Howe is 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Memorial Chapel in Poteau with Reverend Josh Effinger officiating. Services are under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau.
She was born Oct. 11, 1926 in Howe to Ellen (Schinzel) Luton and Marion Luton and passed away Jan. 11, 2023 in Heavener.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, D.J. Price Jr.; six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Anna Smith and husband Ted; grandchildren Heather Butler and husband Chris, Allisha Wiseley, Khris Smith and wife Charlotte, and Creigh Smith, great grandchildren Dalton Seigler, Josh Butler and wife Paige, Jacob Butler, Dannielle Butler, Brendon Wiseley, Annaston Wiseley, Kylie Smith, Garrett Smith, Mariah Smith, Justus Smith and Levi Smith; and a great great grandchild, Caleb Butler.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
The family will greet friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
