Obituary for Jimmy Alford Lee Sr.
In Loving Memory of Jimmy Alford Lee, Sr.
May 4, 1941 – February 21, 2025
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23
With grateful hearts and unwavering faith, we celebrate the life and going home of Jimmy Alford Lee, Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and steadfast man of God. On the morning of February 21, 2025, the Lord called him home to eternal rest. Though our hearts grieve his absence, we find comfort in knowing that he now walks in glory, embraced by the love of our Savior.
Born May 4, 1941, in Braden to Robert and Analo (Phillips) Lee, Jimmy was the third of eight children. From a young age, he learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and faith—principles that guided him throughout his life.
A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Victory Worship Center in Spiro.
Viewing will take place from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Mallory Chapel in Spiro with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
Jimmy was a man of wisdom, integrity, and kindness. He lived his life with purpose, always encouraging those around him to work hard and strive for their best. He was a disciple of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ until his health began to fail. He dedicated 35 years of service to Hill Company in Fort Smith, Arkansas, until its closure in 1996. His strong work ethic led him to further employment at Cintas and Atwoods, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2017. As a skilled sewing machine mechanic, he took great pride in his craft and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Beyond his work, Jimmy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time with family, riding motorcycles, and caring for his horses. He was a man who truly embraced life and found beauty in every moment. His love for his family was evident in all he did—his guidance, his sacrifices, and his unwavering support.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife of 63 years, Mable Lee; his beloved children Jimmy A. Lee, Jr. (Spiro), Jacqueline Griffin (Fort Smith, Arkansas), Michael Lee (Fort Smith, Arkansas), and Alexandria Lee; his adored seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Katherine Massey (Epluribus) and Mender Lee, both of Spiro; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Analo Lee; his sisters Dorothy Phillips and Joyce Alphonso; and his brothers, Bobby Lee, Thomas Lee, and Elder Mitchell Lee.
Flower girls are Cathy Mack, Linda Ledbetter, Damita Cunningham, Sue Bunch, Latitia Hill, Kim Douglas, and Kayleigh Lee.
Honorary flower girls are his Granddaughters and Great Granddaughters, Biana Kursh, Braylin Gray, Jazmyn Johnson, Jozlyn Johnson, Nicole Lee, and Catlyn Lee.
Pallbearers are Allen Ledbetter, Vernon Bunch, Jr., Travis Bunch, Dwight Marshall, Keyshaun Steele and Jarron Steele.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons Christopher Johnson, Elijah Lee, Deondre Griffin, Michael Lee, and Jimmy Lee, Jr.
As we say goodbye, we stand firm in the promises of John 14:1-3, where Jesus reminds us: “Let not your heart be troubled... I go to prepare a place for you.” We know that Jimmy has entered into his eternal home, free from pain and full of joy in the presence of the Lord.
Rest in peace, Jimmy Alford Lee, Sr. your legacy of love, faith, and hard work will never be forgotten.
