Bible verse of the day for 10-2-2023
Bible verse of the day for Monday
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Hall about it 10-2-2023

Trish the Wife thinks I am wasting my time with my website and newsletter.
I disagree.
She says I put all this time and money into our websites, etc., with little return. She is partially right, I will admit that, but don’t tell her.
I think we are in the process of building something that is worth doing. My expenses are not much, luckily, but my income has not been either, but it is improving every month.
What we need are 1,000 paid subscribers to our newsletter. That would take care of our expenses and show enough income that it is worth our time instead of scraping by.
The cost is only $5 per month or $50 per year. Our subscribers never miss one of our stories and at the same time, you will be supporting local journalism. While we had to quit printing last year, we have never given up on local news, sports, obits and more for Heavener, LeFlore County and the surrounding area.
For those of you who have already subscribed, thank you. I do have a favor to ask, if you enjoy our newsletter, please share it with whoever you think might be interested, or even give a gift subscription.
We have not raised the price of our subscription to the newsletter in over three years and have no plan to do so. And we also have not placed any advertisements on the newsletter. Yet.
I wish we had one advertiser willing to pay $500 a month, or two for $300 each, then we could provide the newsletter as a free publication and we would get even more readers than the 400 or so per day we are already getting.
As I hope you have noticed, this newsletter is published every day with the latest news, sports, obits and more. If you want to subscribe, you can do so with the newsletter. Again, it is only $5 per month or $50 per year. Your help will enable me to continue to provide the news stories you will not see anywhere else.
Journalism in the area is at its weakest point ever. That gives us a good opportunity and with your help, we can take advantage of that situation and provide even better coverage.
Plus, we can prove Trish the Wife wrong.
