Obituary for LeRoy Roberts

LeRoy Roberts of Heavener was born June 30, 1947 in Hackett, Arkansas to Willie Edward and Vera Madge (Godwin) Roberts and passed away Aug. 14, 2024 in Poteau at the age of 77.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

LeRoy was a long-time resident of the area and he worked many years in construction as a carpenter.

He is survived by one sister Nita Day and husband Dennis Ganton; two brothers John Roberts, and Jerry David Roberts and wife Donna Ingram-Roberts; other family member, Jeannie M. Garton; numerous other loved ones and many friends. 

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers James Edward Roberts, Ned Weldon Roberts, Bob Edward Roberts, Delbert Leon Roberts and Melvin Roy Roberts; and two sisters Ruthie May Menke and Jewel Leona Hail.

Obituary for Charlie Bailey Jr.

Funeral services for Charles "Charlie" Edmon Bailey Jr., 62, of Bokoshe is at 10 a.m. on Monday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Keota with Pastor Brad Anderson and Pastor Fred Wegert officiating.

Burial will follow at the Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau.

Charlie was born Nov. 17, 1961, in Oklahoma City to Pauline (Bowden) and Charles Edmon Bailey Sr. and passed away Aug. 12, 2024 in Bokoshe. 

He married Jackie Lisa (Fullen) Aug. 4, 2012 in Tucker and was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. 

Charlie is survived by his wife, Jackie, brother, Glen Bailey, of Anaconda, Montana, father, Charles Edmon Bailey Sr., of Henderson, Nevada, mother-in-law, Yvonne Fullen, of Bokoshe, brother-in-law Buddy Fullen and wife Vickie of Phoenix, Arizona; niece Brooke Perceful-Dale and husband Brandon of Poteau, great nephew, John Sterling Perceful-Dale; great niece, Elizabeth Kate Perceful-Dale; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Bailey; brother Bill Perceful, and his first wife Lena.

Pallbearers are Shay Bennett, Ben Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Logan Bennett, Tommy Swindle, Destry Williams, and Heath Herd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glen Bailey, Buddy Fullen, Brandon Dale, Michael Stenhouse, Mark Mainer, Randy Hansen, Randy Horton and Scott Horton.   

Viewing is from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel.
