Bible verse of the day
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27
Pardon my short absence
By CRAIG HALL
I apologize profusely for my good lucks and charming personality, but I will be unable to post the newsletter and anything on the website for the next few days.
Hall about it
Unfortunately, it is not for either of those reasons. Instead, the operation on my neck is scheduled for tomorrow at a time to be announced by the doctor later today. The operation is going to be in Tulsa and I have no idea what the recovery schedule will be.
I only promise to be back as soon as possible. I truly apologize, but this has been put off for over a year and needs to be taken care of prior to returning to school in August. It’s been a pain, not in the tush, but my neck and other choice locations.
Am I worried? A little. Will it hurt? No idea. Why am I asking myself questions? Not sure, just thought that might be something those of you who did not skip over this fine column might like to know.
The biggest pain is I will be trapped at the house basically for the rest of the summer as I do not know what I can drive again, but don’t feel like it will be wise to drive when I can’t turn my neck either way.
I know Trish the Wife is eager to spend all the coming days and nights with me, while waiting on me constantly at my beckon call. I am going to get a bell so I get jingle it when needed. As if. Maybe Khloe the granddaughter can lend a hand like she did when I stroked out three years ago.
I will try to keep you updated as to what is going on as soon as possible, but the operation is tomorrow and I will not return home until Thursday.
Thanks for all your support and don’t give up, as Gen. Douglas McArthur once said (along with the Terminator) “I’ll ve back.” That was Arnie’s version, not Dougie’s. I would like to say bigger and better than ever. But I don’t want to get any fatter. Better is always a possibility, however.
This is not me asking for a pity party. Not needed. If you are a praying person, I will gladly accept this. Food and Diet Pepsi, also.
Be cool.
