Obituary for Russell Marion Woodall
Russell Marion Woodall of Roland funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the House of Refuge, 469051 Highway 64 in Gans with Sister Debbie Goff officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro.
Russell was born Aug. 17, 1957, in Bakersfield, California, to Wynona (Beeler) and Roy Woodall. He passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Roland.
On September 20, 2014, he married the love of his life, Velma Woodall, in Gans.
Russell was a man of strong faith, a devoted servant of the Lord, and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed simple pleasures — watching westerns (especially “Gunsmoke”), fishing, swimming, and spending time cruising with Velma. He also had a passion for making homemade beef jerky, which he loved to share with family and friends.
Russell is survived by his wife, Velma Woodall; his son, Treint Woodall; his daughters Shanea Reed (Colton Reed), Lakesha Parkerson (Cody Parkerson), Stephanie Goad (Rob Chronister), and Tarah Vest; grandchildren Noah Reed, Bryson Reed, Makenzy Irvin, Rynlee Parkerson, and Tylor Griffin (Kaley Harrower), Conner Griffin; and great-grandchildren FinLee Harrower and Asher Griffin; his brother, Richard Dawson (Janis Dawson), along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Latasha Elliott, and his brother Roger Woodall.
Pallbearers are Treint Woodall, Danny Brewer, Jimmy Brewer, Ronnie Mackey, Prentiss Peters and Rob Chronister.
Russell’s kind heart, unwavering faith, and love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Viewing and visitation is Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
