Obituary for Mary Sanders
Mary Ellen (Gordon) Sanders of Heavener was born March 13, 1950 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Fred William and Anna Mae (Fletcher) Gordon and passed away Nov. 25, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 73.
Memorial service is 10 a.m. Saturday at the Forrester Baptist Church in Heavener with Reverend Mike Steelman and Reverend Mark Cook officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Mary was a long- time resident of the area, a 1968 graduate of Heavener High School, and a retired CNA/CMA. She was a member of the Forrester Baptist Church. Mary loved spending time with her family, grandkids, and friends. She will be missed by all whom loved and knew her.
Surviving family members are her husband, Wade Sanders, of the home; four daughters Amy Baker and husband Tony of Heavener, Kim Flinn of Glenpool, Denise Lowery and husband Richard of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Carletta Lewis and husband Robert of Hurst, Texas; one son Matt Sanders and wife Lisa of Perkins; one sister, Linda McDaniel, of Heavener; 16 grandchildren Joshua, Amber, David, Michael, Kira, Kyle, Aaron, Michael, Victoria, Morgan, Bailee, Haydon, Dalton, Lakelyn, Trenton and Tekoa; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Gordon; one son, Ron Owens; and one brother, John Gordon.

Service planned for Barbara Louise Corcoran
Funeral service for Barbara Louise Corcoran, 79, of Monroe is 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Vision Worship Center in Van Buren, Arkansas with Reverend Brad Corcoran officiating.
Burial will follow at the Monroe Cemetery, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She was born April 18, 1944 in Fanshawe to Mamie (Thornburg) Sumpter and Therman Sumpter and passed away Nov. 26, 2023 in Pocola.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Corcoran; children, Curtis Corcoran, Jr. and wife Marla, Bradley Corcoran and wife Krista; grandchildren; great grandchildren; brothers Terry Sumpter, and Butch Sumpter; and a sister, Rita Baldwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; great granddaughter, Kamryn Leaton; brothers Ellis Sumpter and Ronnie Sumpter.
Pallbearers are Chris Erwin, Michael Erwin, Kolby Taylor, Lee Sumpter, Brad Pickens and Joshua Hogan.
Viewing and visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
