Service set for Carol Hunter
Funeral service for Carol Hunter, 71, of Poteau is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She was born Aug. 13, 1952 in Poteau to Ortha(Cagle)Brasher and Jack Brasher and passed away Jan. 8, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Survivors include her husband, John Hunter; sisters, Donna Thornburg, and Dianne Walker; grandson, Johnathon Fugate.
She was preceded in death by her sons Richard Fugate, and Keith Fugate; parents, Jack and Ortha Brasher; sister, Sada Harris; brother, Ray Brasher, Tim Brasher, Mark Brasher and Loyd Caroll.
Visitation is Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Schools closed Friday
Due to the threat of a winter storm and frigid temperatures, several area schools will not be in session Friday.
