Bible verse for Saturday:
All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
--2 Timothy 3:16-17
Heat advisory continues into weekend
The National Weather Service has announced the heat advisory will continue from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for Saturday.
Heat index values between 107-108 are expected for portions of northwest and west Arkansas, and east central, northeast and southeast Oklahoma.
A second advisory has been issued from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Everybody is encouraged to take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 911.
